Three kinds of home here
A charger has to reach a car parked on your own land, so what matters is how far the car is from your fuse board, not the unit on the wall. - We're in an older cottage near St Mary's. Does that change things?

The first thing to settle is whether you've any off-street space of your own for the car. None of that rules a charger out. It just wants a proper look first.
- Can we get the government grant on our estate?
- Most likely not, and it's fairer you hear that now. Almost everyone on the Broughton Astley estates owns their home and parks on their own driveway, and the grant isn't aimed at driveway-owning homeowners. It's mainly for renters and flat owners.
