Which part of Great Glen you're in
For a home charger, the thing that matters most is where you park and whether the cable has a clear run to your fuse board. Great Glen falls into three broad types, and which one you're in decides how simple the job is.
The newer estates
The estates that grew out from the old village are the straightforward ones. Almost every home has its own driveway and a modern fuse board, so there's off-street parking right where you need it and the charger goes on with little fuss.
Bigger detached plots
Great Glen has plenty of larger detached homes on wide plots, where the driveway sits well back from the house. The charger still goes on fine. The only difference is how far the cable has to reach the fuse board, which we work out when we come and look.
The old conservation core
The older homes in the middle, around St Cuthbert's church and the River Sence, sit closer together with less room out front, and some park on the street. Here the first question is where a cable could run on your side of the pavement, and whether older wiring needs bringing up to standard first.

- Probably not, and it's fairer to say so up front. The chargepoint grant doesn't go to homeowners who own the house and have their own driveway, and that's most of Great Glen.
